I’m preparing for our annual camping trip to the California coast at Dillon Beach.
As I’ve said before, it’s a fantastic spot for family camping with direct access to the beach. However, each year I add the caveat that I’ll only go if it isn’t raining. I’m crossing my fingers the weather plays nice.
But as I began to dream about warmer camping spots, I stumbled upon this rad place in the high desert called Kate’s Lazy Desert.
There, you can camp in any of six fully restored and decked out Airstreams.
As if that wasn’t cool enough, this entire endeavor is the result of a love for Airstreams by Kate Pierson of the B52′s.
Rates midweek are $175/night, weekends are $200/night and are air-conditioned and fully decorated in the most charming retro decor.
Their site isn’t great and doesn’t seem to do it justice, but it’s enough to convince me to include a detour on my next trip to Southern California!Pin It
